Mark and Vicki are the lifeblood of Swing Dance Brisbane.  They are highly versatile dancers known for their smooth relaxed style on the dance floor and creative approach to social dancing.  This directly reflects in their teaching style.

Mark and Vicki have been at the forefront of the swing dancing scene in Australia for many years.  Their aim as teachers and dancers is to insure that their scene is fun, informative, and most importantly – social.  Their classes create an atmosphere that is relaxed and entertaining, while not ignoring the basic principals of sound partner and solo dancing.  After all – students come to classes to wind down, not wind up. 

Mark and Vicki place emphasis on teaching over other areas of the dance.  You are more likely to find them teaching classes and workshops than competing for prizes.  They are accomplished instructors and are recognised both nationally and internationally.  They have taught in Australia workshops covering Lindy Hop, Balboa, Charleston & Jazz Movement.  Cities include - Brisbane, Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, Gold Coast, and Perth.  They have taught alongside the great Frankie Manning as guest instructors three times in both Sydney and Adelaide.  They have been invited by Swing Patrol in Melbourne to be judges and adjudicators for Australia’s biggest swing dance championships - the Australian Jitterbug Championships Melbourne, in 2003, 2004 & 2005.  Other events they’ve judged include the Sydney Jitterbug Championships in 2004 & 2005, not to mention many local comps including Wintersun, Gold Coast.

Internationally Mark and Vicki have taught for Swing Dance Calgary, Canada, and also have been invited support teachers at the famous Balboa camp – The Balboa Rendezvous, held in San Diego.  Being at Bal Rendezvous enables Mark and Vicki not only to assist in teaching but also the fantastic opportunity to learn from the original masters of the dance.

Mark is also recognised for his DJ'ing skills and comprehensive  knowledge of swing and jazz music.  He has been called on to DJ at many Australian events and has been the head DJ at the massive Lismore Dance Camp 2003, 2004, 2005.

Mark and Vicki  strongly believe that to be at the forefront of their scene and continue its growth, they need to constantly  source new ideas while embracing the roots of the dance.  This quest has lead to them attending workshops world wide to talk, dance and learn with some of the greatest swing dancers in the world today.
